WEED ALERT! currantly spreading down south…
For those of you down south, check your gardens for the invasive flowering currant, which is currantly in full berry. It’s no good for making jam, but the birds are spreading the seed near and far, and once it is established it can really take over.
If you find this in your garden, please do cut it down - and make sure you treat the freshly cut stumps with a suitable herbicide, or it will just grow back and you’ll have even more trunks to deal with next year. You can find more info here.
