Profile
Friends of Te Mata Park are still involved in weed control as well as planting natives and in track maintenance. We now have cotoneaster, fennel, and banana passionfruit under control, and are approaching that with pink ragwort. We recently spent time on a rapidly expanding area of stinking iris and seedling palms, and Mexican daisy has become a real problem in open and semi-shaded places, overwhelming rank grasses and trees up to about one metre high. It has, unfortunately invaded our beautiful limestone cliffs, and managing that is beyond us.
We are happy to welcome new members to the group: work time remains the second Saturday of
the month and my contact is 06 8778328 or [Enable JavaScript to view protected content]
